Applying Nanomer® Nanoclays to Epoxy
Application:






Goals:
The customer is required to raise the Tg level of an epoxy coating for large vessel tanks. Currently the material is failing due to the high temperature cleaning.

Raise the Tg by 10oC without using expensive alternative resins.
Details:
The customer was able to raise the Tg by 15-20oC, by adding Nanomer nanoclay to their current formula, not requiring any other changes in materials or processing.
Advantages: Exceeded the Tg requirement by 5-10oC, while keeping cost increase to a minimum.

Customer Completion:

 The customer was able to add Nanomer nanoclays to their existing formula,and submit the material for approval in less than two months.
