Nanocor announces commercial introduction of Rheospan® its newest product line based on nanotechnology
Nanocor, Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of AMCOL International, Corp. (NYSE: ACO), announced the commercial introduction of its newest product line based on nanotechnology: Rheospan®.
Rheospan®, a sag control additive for use in Unsaturated Polyester resin, provides an alternative to traditional sag control materials, such as fumed silica and standard organoclays. Rheospan® delivers excellent sag control, easy incorporation, modest viscosity gains allowing for more flexibility in processing, a more consistent product, while providing cost effective advantages over competitive materials.
Rheospan® was developed by Nanocor to meet the needs of a limited number of customers, but will now be supplied to the full Unsaturated Polyester market, with a focus on the marine, construction, and aerospace industries.
“We are excited about the launch of our newest product, Rheospan. Not only does this broaden our product line of nanocomposite materials, but allows us to enter the composite market from a solution based perspective,” stated Ron Gartner, Product Manager. “We have had a number of requests from our prospective customers to provide a solution to a long standing need to improve sag control properties in UPE resin, and Rheospan fills that need admirably.”
